About
I’m Esther Li-Chen (not to be confused with a lichen), a recent graduate with a B.A. in Architecture and a minor in Sustainable Design at the University of California, Berkeley.
My background in architecture has developed my technical and visual skills in order to create engaging spaces. With this education, I’ve learned how to rethink typical user experiences to develop innovative and intuitive designs.
My design philosophy is rooted in the belief that human experience is shaped by both the spaces we inhabit and the tools we use to navigate them. By combining architectural technicality with UI/UX precision, I bridge the gap between the tactile and the digital. I am particularly passionate about sustainable design and materiality, focusing on how responsible material choices can enhance the physical user experience. My background across both disciplines gives me a unique advantage in designing meaningful, inclusive environments that are as functional as they are beautiful
Whenever I’m not in the studio, you can find me trying new recipes, practicing handstands, online shopping, or snacking on sardines.
